Description
Description: This Hamilton khaki field is probably the rarest of them all, the reference # is 9415 and not 9415A, which you find many in circulation. The caseback still says Hamilton Lancaster, PA. Also the movement is the regular ETA 2801-2, which unlike the modified H-50, runs at 28800 bph. Inside you will find another difference, the 9415 has the metal ring, unlike the 9415A which has the plastic ring holding the movement in place.

My Observation: I like military watches, but in this case, I wanted more of a vintage watch with smaller dimensions like they used to wear in the 80s and before. I was able to find this watch on eBay for a very, very competitive price and went for it. It only needed regulation and polishing the crystal. I was surprised when I found the original ETA 2801-2, beating at 28800 bph, which is the model that Hamilton a few years later modified to reduce the beat count to increase the power reserve called H-50. I believe this watch will stay in the collection for the foreseeable future.
